Indore: Australia defeated India by nine wickets in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy here today. Australia achieved the target of 76 runs for victory by losing one wicket in 18.5 overs.
Travis Head top-scored for the team with an unbeaten 49 in the second innings. Marnus Labuschagne contributed an unbeaten 28 runs. Even after losing this match, the Indian team is leading the four-match series 2-1.
After the match, captain Rohit said on India’s defeat, “When you lose a Test match, there are a lot of things that are not in your favor. Obviously, we didn’t bat well in the first innings.”
He said, “We understand how important it is to score runs on the board. Once they took an 80-90-run lead, we had to play a big innings with the bat and we couldn’t do it. If we had batted well in the first innings, things could have been different. Now we will think about it.”
