Infighting in Congress: party calls urgent Legislative meet today

Chandigarh: Due to mounting pressure from some Congress MLA in Punjab, party high command has called a urgent meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) here on Saturday.

The CLP meeting could spell trouble for Capt Amarinder Singh as this meeting comes two days after several MLAs wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, making it clear that the government cannot move ahead in this fashion,

In a late night development, Punjab Affairs in charge Harish Rawat took to Twitter to make the announcement.

The AICC has received a representation from a large number of MLAs from the congress party, requesting to immediately convene a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party of Punjab. Accordingly, a meeting of the CLP has been convened at 5:00 PM on 18th September, Rawat said.

He further said that Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee office. AICC directs the PPCC to facilitate this meeting. All congress MLAs of Punjab are requested to kindly attend this meeting.
