Irregularities in land purchased for setting up seed farm to be probed: Agriculture Minister

Chandigarh: Punjab Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has said that the state government will probe the alleged irregularities in the purchase of land for Rs 32 crore for setting up a seed farm near the international border in Amritsar in 2008.

The minister said 700 acres of land near the border in Ranian village was purchased by the agriculture department at a “very high” price.

Dhaliwal said, “During the government led by the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, when Such Singh Langah was the Agriculture Minister and Kahan Singh Pannu was the Deputy Commissioner of District Amritsar, the land was purchased at exorbitant prices.”
