Bhopal: A 65-year-old with mental illness was found dead hours after he was mercilessly beaten up by for suspecting him to be a “Muslim”, police said here on Saturday.

In a viral video, accused identified as Dinesh Kushwaha, husband of an ex BJP corporator asking repeatedly to victim if his “name is Mohammed” and assaulted him as he struggled to answer.

Meanwhile, a case under section 302 (murder) had been registered against accused in Neemuch district. He is absconding and raids are on to nab him, police added.
