New Delhi: Amid exponential rise of Omicron variant across globe, Israel has decided to administer fourth dose of COVID vaccines.
Authorities has asked its health workers that people who are over the age of 60 or are immunocompromised are eligible to get vaccinated for the fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
A Health Ministry expert panel recommended the fourth shot and the move has been welcomed by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett as “great news that will help us overcome the Omicron wave that is spreading around the world”.
“The citizens of Israel were the first in the world to receive the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and we are continuing to pioneer with the fourth dose as well,” he said while appealing people to go and get themselves vaccinated to contain virus spread.
