Chandigarh: There would an intresting contest between Bajwa brothers for the Punjab Vidhan Sabha seat as both are daggers drawn with each other with both eying to win the seat for their party.
Sitting MLA from Qadian MLA Fateh Jung Singh recently joined the BJP after he was denied a party ticket as his elder brother and Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa is contesting the Qadian seat on the Congress ticket.
Sons of late Congress stalwart Satnam Singh Bajwa, who remained a four time MLA and was assassinated at the peak of militancy in his farmhouse in 1987, now would fight against each other as BJP is going to announce Fateh from his home turf and Congress has already announced Partap its candidate from Qadian.
The tussle between brother is not new as in 2009, Partap was elected MP from Gurdaspur Parliamentary seat and in 2012 his wife Charanjit Kaur allotted the Congress ticket even Fateh Jung objected to it.
In 2017, Fateh Jung successfully contested from seat and won the elections.
