Las Vegas: A gunman killed two people and injured six others with a large kitchen knife in Las Vegas. The attacker has been arrested by the police.
According to Las Vegas police, they received 911 calls about stabbing at 11:40 a.m and locals and tourists were caught up in the attack. After the stabbing incident, three persons were admitted to the hospital in critical condition and three others in a stable condition.
James LaRochelle of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that suspect, Hispanic man in his 30s, is believed to be of Spanish origin. He does not even appear to be a resident of Las Vegas.
LaRochelle said the stabbing took place on the eastern sidewalk of Las Vegas Boulevard without any provocation. Suspect went south and there he attacked the other people with a knife.
Suspect, who was trying to flee from the spot, was chased by callers on 911 and then taken into custody by the police. Police have also recovered a sharp-edged knife from his possession.
Police said they were not looking for any other suspect. The reason behind the stabbing is yet to be ascertained by the police and the matter is being investigated.
