New Delhi: Justice Dhananjay Y Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) today. He was administered the oath of office by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He will succeed Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, whose term ended on November 8. Justice Chandrachud will hold the post for two years till November 10, 2024.
