Kanjhawala case: Delhi Police files 800-page charge sheet against 7 accused

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has filed an 800-page charge sheet against seven accused in the Kanjhawala hit and drag case. In January this year, a 20-year-old woman, Anjali Singh, died after being dragged under her car in the incident that took place in Kanjhawala.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sania Dalal posted the matter for further hearing on April 13. Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun and Manoj Mittal were arrested by the police on January 2 in connection with the case.

Two other accused Ashutosh Bhardwaj and Ankush were earlier granted bail by the court. Deepak Khanna’s bail plea has been rejected by the sessions court.

According to the police, seven persons were arrested and an 800-page charge sheet was prepared along with around 117 witnesses on completion of the investigation. Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun and Manoj Mittal have been booked for murder, according to the charge sheet. Ashutosh and Amit Khanna have also been booked under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Anjali Singh (20) was killed at the beginning of the new year when her scooter was hit by a car and the car dragged her for more than 12 km from Sultanpur to Kanjhawala.
