Kenney wins majority, then steps down as leader of UCP

New Delhi: Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has announced his resignation as leader of the United Conservative Party (UCP) today.

Premier Kenney voted to know the people’s side of the story in his favour. Of these, 51.4 per cent said yes while approving Kenny as the leader, while 48.6 per cent gave a negative reply. A total of 34,298 votes have been cast for this process. Kenny has announced not to run for leader but his leadership still retains the approval of more than half of his party members.
