Khalistani sympathisers write anti-India slogans on temple walls in Canada, India raises issue

Ottawa: Anti-India slogans were written on the walls of a prominent temple in Canada by Khalistani extremists to hurt religious sentiments. The Indian Commission condemned the incident and urged the Canadian authorities to take swift action against the perpetrators.

The incident took place on February 13 at a Ram temple in Mississauga.

“We strongly condemn this incident for hurting religious sentiments by writing anti-India slogans on the walls of Ram Temple in Mississauga,” the Consulate General of India in Toronto tweeted on Tuesday. We have requested the Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take swift action against the culprits.”

“The walls of The Shri Ram Temple in Mississauga, Ontario were defiled at night on February 13. We are deeply disturbed by this incident and we are working with the appropriate law enforcement authority on this matter.”

Pro-Khalistani slogans and anti-India slogans have been written on the walls of the temple. This is not the first time that anti-India slogans have been written on the wall of a temple in Canada.

In January, anti-India slogans were found written on the wall of a temple in Canada, sparking outrage among the Indian community.

In September last year, slogans by “Canadian Khalistani extremists” were written on the walls of the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto.
