New Delhi: Newly elected Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today formally took charge of his post after receiving the election paper. The party’s central election authority chief Madhusudan Mistry handed over the election certificate to Kharge.
Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and many other leaders were present on the occasion.
Before assuming office, Kharge paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. He also paid tributes to former Prime Ministers Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
