New Delhi: The country’s oldest party Congress will get its new president today. This will be the first time in 24 years that the party will get a president outside the Gandhi family. Therefore, today is a historic day for the Congress.
The Congress, the oldest party in the country, is going to get a national president outside the Gandhi family today after 24 years.
Earlier, Sitaram Kesri was a non-Gandhi president. Voting for the post of president was held on October 17, the results of which will come today.
The counting of votes will begin at 10 am, after which the picture will be clear who will take charge of the Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor.
Kharge, however, seems to have the upper hand. In the Congress, 9500 out of 9800 delegates across the country voted.
