Ranchi: A special CBI court on Monday sentenced former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to five years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 60 lakh on him in connection with the Rs 139 crore Doranda treasury embezzlement case of the fodder scam.
He was convicted by the court on February 15 and lodged in Birsa Munda central jail. He, however, later shifted to state run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi due to his poor health.
