Life in Afghanistan will be regulated by laws of holy Sharia, say Taliban supreme leader
Afghanistan: Within a month after the Taliban returned to rule Afghanistan, a new cabinet has been unveiled Tuesday with world leaders left to wonder about future ties with the nation.
Taliban supreme leader Haibatullah Akhundzada, however made it clear that all matters of governance in the future and life in Afghanistan will be regulated by the laws of the Holy Sharia.
Akhundzada, in his first public statement since the August 15 said that the Taliban were committed to all international laws, treaties and commitments not in conflict with Islamic law.
He also congratulated Afghans on what he called the country’s liberation from foreign rule.
