Chandigarh: A day after clash between Congress and Lok Insaf Party (LIP) workers clashed in Ludhiana, district police have arrested LIP MLA from Atam Nagar Simarjit Singh Bains.
Bains has been held by police from lawyers’ chamber in the court complex for clash at Gill market, Shimlapuri.
In the clash, Toyota Fortuner of Congress candidate Kamaljit Singh Karwal among five cars were vandalised by the mob and some people also sustained the injuries.
Karwal alleged that Bains also opened fire in the air.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against Bains, his son and 32 others people on the charges of attempt to murder and other sections.
