Liquor mafia attacks ASI to release associate from police custody in Ferozepur

Chandigarh: In Ferozepur, the liquor mafia attacked the police and took away their aide from police custody on Tuesday.

The accused reportedly assaulted the ASI and tore his uniform. The police was informed by the informer that the accused used to prepare and sell illicit liquor. The incident took place in Bhavta Azam Shah village. Police have registered a case against the four accused on Tuesday and started investigation.

ASI Balwant Singh has complained that he was patrolling with a police party in village Bhavta Azam Shah. They had received information that accused Subhash used to prepare and sell illicit liquor.

When police raided his house, he was engaged in preparing liquor. There was a crowd of people outside.

Some people from the crowd attacked the police and rescued Subhash from police custody and took him away. Not only this, Subhash snatched the documents from the police while fleeing.

In this incident, ASI Balwant Singh was assaulted and his uniform was torn. Police have registered a case against the accused Subhash, Seema, Dharampreet and Monu. Raids are on the nab them soon, police said.
