New Delhi: Actor-athlete Praveen Kumar Sobti, best known for playing Bheem in the TV series ‘Mahabharat’ died following a cardiac arrest at his Ashok Vihar residence on Monday night.
He was also winner of an Asian Games gold medal.
Sobti will be cremated at the crematorium ground in Punjabi Bagh today.
According to the information, he had a chronic chest infection problem and last nigh he felt uneasiness and family called the doctor at home. He, however, passed between 10-10:30pm following a heart attack, family said.
Many personality including BSF also condolences the death of Sobti and wrote on its official handle, “Director General & All Ranks of BSF condole the untimely demise of Sh Praveen Kumar Sobti, former Deputy Commandant, Arjuna Awardee, two-time Olympian (1968 Mexico Games and 1972 Munich Games) & four-time Asian Games medallist (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze).”
