Major countries including Canada, Australia refusing student visa of Indians after forged documents discovered

Ontario: Indian students who want to pursue a career in countries like Canada, Australia and United States are currently facing visa refusal at a large scale.

A colossal number of applications from Punjab aspirants to go abroad on a study base have been rejected by embassies of different countries.

The main reason behind this is said to be fake bank statements, birth certificates and fake documents being prepared by the applicants to clear educational gaps to obtain visas.

According to the information, in 2020-21, Australia’s Department of Home Affairs detected more than 600 such cases related to Punjab, Haryana, in which fake documents were used to obtain Australia’s education visa. At the same time, the figure of such cases detected by the Canadian High Commission in a year is more than 2500. Similar cases have also been detected by New Zealand, UK and US embassies.

Canada’s visa rejection rate has reached 41 percent. Before Covid, the rate was 15 per cent. According to many experts, due to Covid-19, the application is also pending for two years.

According to a new report by the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, 225,402 applications for study visas were processed in 2021 and of them, 91,439 were rejected, or about 41 per cent were rejected.
