Chandigarh:Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today asked the officers of the department to ensure that all the buses stands across the state are encroachment free in coming 48 hours.
Chairing a maiden meeting here today the Minister said that the encroachments at the stands are not only creating inconvenience to the masses but is also causing a huge loss to state exchequer. He said that this needs to be checked at the earliest for which they have to be removed within 48 hours. Warring categorically said that every encroachment whether big or small has to be removed else strict action will be taken.
The Minister also asked the General Managers to make strenuous and collective efforts for enhancing income of the department. He said that any officers indulging in fraudulent activities will not be spared at any cost. Warring also asked them to ensure speedy recovery of arrears from the wilful defaulting transporters.
