London: A video of a masked man, identifying himself as an Indian Sikh, has threatened to “assassinate” Queen Elizabeth II to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Following this, Scotland Yard has launched a probe and an intruder was also arrested at the monarch’s Windsor Castle.
In the viral video, miscreant identifies himself as Indian Sikh Jaswant Singh Chail and said that he wants to “assassinate” the monarch in revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The Metropolitan Police have yet not named the 19-year-old suspect, but he’s being held over mental health issues.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what I’ve done and what I will do. I will attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, Queen of the Royal Family,” the masked man is seen saying in the video.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 when British Brigadier-General R. E. H. Dyer ordered to open fire and killed many Sikh protestors.
