In an audio clip that has gone viral, it has been said that the murder was done at the behest of gangster Goldy Brar. The recording has gone viral in the name of Deepak Mundi, the sixth shooter in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, who is still out of police custody.

He was a resident of Lopo village in Moga district. Moga SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana said Mandeep was named in a criminal case registered against unidentified persons at Samalsar police station in 2020.
