New Delhi: 55 per cent of IndiGo’s domestic flights were delayed today as a large number of crew members took leave in the name of illness.
Sources said the members belonging to the crew team had gone on leave in the name of illness to join Air India’s recruitment drive. Asked about the matter, DGCA chief Arun Kumar said, “We are looking into it. ’
Sources in the industry said that the second round of Air India’s recruitment drive was today and more members of indigo’s crew team who took leave in the name of illness had gone for it. India’s largest airline, IndiGo, currently operates about 1,600 flights daily.
IndiGo did not respond to the matter. According to the civil aviation ministry’s website, 45.2 per cent of IndiGo’s domestic flights operated on time today. In comparison, 77.1 per cent of Air India flights, SpiceJet 80.4, Vistara 86.3, Go First 88 per cent and AirAsia India’s 92.3 per cent were on time today.
