New Delhi: The Congress has intensified its attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Narendra Modi government at the Center over inflation. Congress is going to hold ‘Mehangai Chaupal’ from today.
The Congress will organise these Mahagrai Chaupals in mandals, retail markets and other places in all assembly constituencies from August 17 to August 23.
According to the information, this movement of Congress will end on August 28 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi through ‘Halla Bol on Inflation’. Recently, on August 5, the Congress had held a nationwide protest on the issue of price rise.
In the last protest, former Congress president and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi was taking out a march against inflation from Parliament House to Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi with his supporters, when he was stopped at Vijay Chowk and detained. The police did not allow the march. At the same time, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who was protesting from the Congress office, was also detained.
The police did not allow the march. Six hours later, Rahul and Priyanka were released from custody. Before the protest, Rahul Gandhi had attacked the Modi government through a press conference.
He had claimed that no institution in India was free and fair and alleged that every institution was under the control of the RSS. He had said that he is fighting against the entire infrastructure of India.
