Chandigarh: Mansa police have filed a 1,850-page charge sheet in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, in which 24 of the total 36 accused have been named as killers while gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been named as the mastermind.
Apart from this, the names of four gangsters sitting abroad – Goldy Brar, Lipin Nehra, Sachin Thapan and Anmol Han – are also included.
The chargesheet includes 122 witnesses, including eyewitnesses, friends who were with Moosewala at the time of his murder, doctors from Mansa who conducted the post-mortem, hotel staff and several others. Mansa SSP Gaurav Tura said 20 accused have been arrested so far in the case, while two shooters Manpreet Mannu and Jagroop Singh Rupa were killed in the encounter.
The charge sheet also names Sandeep Kekra, shooters Priyavrat Fauji, Ankit Sirsa and Kashish alias Kuldeep, who carried out the recce of Moosewala, and gangsters Manpreet Bhau, Manpreet Manna, Saraj Mintoo, Manmohan Mohana and Sachin Bhiwani. Mansa SSP Gaurav Tura said during a special press conference convened in Kahli this evening that the challan of the gangsters sitting abroad has been presented in the court and the process of bringing them to India will also be started soon.
Tura said that 20 accused have been arrested in this case and four accused Goldy Brar, Lipin Nehra, Sachin Thapan and Anmol are abroad. Challans have been filed against these 24 accused today. Eight accused in the case are still out of custody.
Challan of five accused pending
The Mansa police today named five persons, including two neighbours of the late singer, Jiwanjot, Kanwarpal, Avtar Singh, Jagtar Singh and Jyoti – in connection with the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Their challan will be presented later, according to the police. It may be recalled that a complaint was lodged against the accused ahead of the candle light march taken out by Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh Sidhu recently. Among the named accused, Avtar Singh and Jagtar are said to be neighbours of the late singer.
