My fight will be with SAD, Congress is nowhere in picture says Amarinder Singh

Chandigarh: Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday shared report card of his four-year tenure as CM while clarifying that today’s event was to showcase his achievement of past four years but not to announce his new political outfit.

Addressing a press conference here, Capt said that he would announce the party soon and presently, waiting approval for the name and symbol of his new party from the Election Commission.

“Many Congressmen will join me once the party was formed as many senior Congress leaders are in touch with me and the party will contest the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls on all the 117 seats,” he said.

He launched fierce attack on Congress party and said that the party is not even in the picture in Punjab to win the elections and their fight would be with the Shiromani Akali Dal.

He said ever since Navjot Sidhu joined the Congress, the popularity graph has slumped drastically.

Talking about an alliance with the BJP, he said that he said he had never said that he is forming alliance with the BJP but seat-sharing with it or other parties. “I have been with the Congress for 52 years, but will leave it in the coming days,” he said.

“Aroosa Alam had been coming here for 16 years and Sukhjinder Randhawa had never objected to her presence. I am open face any inquiry including CBI, Income Tax or ED probe into the allegations of her taking money out of the country,” he said.
