National dental-care benefit becomes a law

Ottawa: National dental care coverage is going to start soon in Canada. The bill to implement the benefit program for children below the age of 12 years has been passed.

Bill C-31, which provides for dental benefits for low-income families, has received royal assent and has now become a law.

The dental benefit is actually the result of an agreement between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh. The government has set December 1 as the date for accepting applications for the programme.

From now on, these benefits will be given to children under the age of 12 whose annual family income is less than $ 90,000.

According to the government, under this benefit, every child will get a benefit of $ 650 every year according to the family’s income. For example

· If the family’s annual income is less than $70,000, each child in the family will receive $650

· If the family’s income is between $70,000 and $79,000, each child in the family will get $390.
