Chandigarh: Persistent with his fierce attack on Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has again openly criticised his functioning in a public rally held at Batala on Sunday.
“Registering FIR against Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia is a ‘mere’ formality. Nothing will happen with an FIR, until police straps are not unleashed. Even cases were registered after sacrilege incidents, but justice has not been delivered into these horrendous incidents so far,” he said.
He further said that there were only announcements for providing cheaper sand and cable networks.
“Are you getting cable at Rs 100 per month, cheaper sand in Punjab. No, the price of sand is about Rs 4,000. That is why I am saying to you that these will not happen only with talks; these will happen with policies; with budget allocation,” Sidhu said.
He also supported cabinet minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa’s staunch rival and former minister Ashwani Sekhri, to field him from Batala in the upcoming assembly polls.
Bajwa, MLA from nearby Fatehgarh Churian, is aspirant to contest polls from. Batala segment.
Showing his inclination to become CM, Sidhu asked he has a clear vision and his Punjab model is road map to bring back lost glory of the Punjab rather than making tall claims ahead of polls.
