NIA registers case against Jaswinder Multani for attempts to revive terrorism in Punjab

New Delhi: The anti-terror federal probe agency NIA on Friday said it had registered a case under various sections of the IPC and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against Jaswinder Singh Multani, a Germany-based operative of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), and his other associates for motivating and recruiting youths in Punjab for anti-India activities.

A spokesperson of the NIA said the case against Multani and others had been registered under Sections 120B amp; 121A of the IPC and Sections 10, 13, 17, 18 and 18B of UA(P) Act, 1967.

Officials said that he has been involved in raising funds to procure arms, ammunition and explosives by using smuggling networks in Punjab to revive terrorism in the state.

Multani has also been in contact with ISI operatives for carrying out terror attacks in Mumbai and other parts of the country, officials said.
