No injuries as truck bursts into flames on busy Toronto highway

Toronto: A cargo truck was gutted in smoke on Toronto’s Mashruff Highway on Tuesday.

The incident took place just before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday on the Western Lanes on the Gardiner Expressway near CNE Grounds.

According to the pictures received, the truck surrounded by flames is clearly visible and black smoke is also rising from the cargo area.

Toronto police said there were no reports of any injuries. Traffic on the highway was disrupted due to the truck catching fire.

Two right lanes of the expressway leading to Jameson Avenue were closed due to the incident. It is not yet known what the truck was carrying and why it caught fire.

The police investigating is underway.
