Afghanistan: A video went viral on the social media in which the Taliban’s newly appointed Minister of Education, Sheikh Molvi Noorullah Munir, questioned the relevance of higher education.
“No Phd degree, master’s degree is valuable today. You see that the Mullahs and Taliban that are in the power, have no Phd, MA or even a high school degree, but are the greatest of all,” Munir is heard saying in the video.
Following this, the video has been widely shared on the social media and it drew a huge criticism across the globe.
A twitter user wrote, “Why is this man talking about education.”
Another said that “His statement indicates that how bright is the future of Afghanistan is going to be.”
Education minster is saying that education is not worth, but a joke, another user wrote on twitter.
The Taliban’s new government will be led by led by Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, Mullah Mohammad Hassan, the little-known head of the Taliban’s leadership council, has been named as acting Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, UN-designated terrorist Sirajuddin Haqqani has also named as the new acting Interior Minister in the 33-member cabinet that has no woman member.
