Nomination packages available for Kelowna civic election

Ottawa: The nomination packages for General Local Elections 2022 and School District number 23 board of education are available in the the City of Kelowna’s Office of the City Clerk.

Residents of Kelowna residents to cast their vote to elect a mayor, 8 councillors and 4 school board trustees on October 15.

People can get more information at kelowna.ca/election to obtain information about eligibility guidelines, the nomination process and information about being an elected official from it.

Meanwhile, the packages could be picked up in person from the office of City Clerk, 2nd floor, Kelowna City Hall, located at 1435 Water Street, officials said.

Laura Bentley, Kelowna’s Chief Election Officer said that to be eligible for local government office, candidates should be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years and have lived in British Columbia for six months before filing the nomination date.

Candidates can submit nomination papers to the Office of the City Clerk between 9am August 30 and 4pm on September 9.
