Chandigarh: Amritpal Singh, head of ‘Waris Punjab De’, on Wednesday clarified that he has not threatened the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the national media has distorted his statements.
Addressing the media, he also questioned the working of national agencies and said that agencies wanted to eliminate him.
Earlier, he said that former PM Indira Gandhi tried to suppress voice of people and, he if Amit Shah did this, he will face consequences.
Apart from this, he further said that it is not justified for the Home Minister to provoke Khalistan. “Our aim is to make Punjab drug-free. We are making efforts to get the youth out of the quagmire of drugs.”
He questioned the governments as to why efforts were not being made to bring the youth out of the clutches of drugs. Hundreds of youth are dying due to drugs.
Moreover, thousands of youth are migrating from Punjab and going to foreign countries. He said that every issue is resolved through dialogue, but suppressing someone creates violence.
