Now wearing face mask is not compulsory in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Two days after Haryana state made face mask optional, Chandigarh administration on Monday evening announced that wearing face mask in tricity is not compulsory from today.

According to the order, no penalty or fine will be imposed for not wearing of face mask in public or work places.

Earlier, Maharashtra, Telangana, Delhi and West Bengal had removed the mandatory clause of wearing face masks in their respective states amid decline in Covid-19 cases across the country.

Not wearing the mask in public was a punishable offence after the Covid-19 pandemic struck the globe.

Meanwhile, India has recorded below 1,000 cases yesterday after 715 days.
