NRI Sikh Thaminder Singh expelled from Sikh panth, Jathedar Langah gets religious punishment

Chandigarh: Former Akali minister Sucha Singh Langah has been given a 21-day religious punishment at a gathering of Akal Takht and Panj Singh Sahiban, while US’ Thaminder Singh Anand has been expelled from the Panth for tampering with the ‘saroop’ of Guru Granth Sahib.

This decision was pronounced today by the Panj Singh Sahiban from the Akal Takht. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, while pronouncing the verdict, told Sucha Singh Langah that he would recite Japji Sahib daily for 21 days.

Along with this, he has been asked to wash cooking utensils and serving langar as punishment. Earlier, Langah apologised to Jathedar and from the sangat.

Sucha Singh Langah was expelled from the Sikh panth by the Akal Takht after he was accused of rape by the woman. He was also a member of the SGPC, from which he had to resign.

In the US, Thaminder Singh Anand, a resident of US, has been expelled from the Panth on charges of printing the holy form of Guru Granth Sahib without approval and tampering with the amount, while two of his colleagues have been paid salaries.
