Omicron and its sub-types shooting up Covid cases in Delhi

New Delhi: If you feel that the corona virus infection has been completely eliminated from the country, here you need to be careful and cautious. Because neither the corona virus nor the omicron variant, which is still active in the country’s national capital Delhi, the report of corona virus infection released by the Delhi Health Department indicates.

LNJP Hospital MD Dr Suresh Kumar has informed that the Omicron variant is active in Delhi.

“We studied which variant of omicron is currently active in Delhi,” Dr Suresh Kumar told a news agency, adding, “50 per cent of the samples analysed were positive for ba2.75 sub variant. This is the main cause of infection right now. Which is spreading faster than other types.”

In fact, 20 to 30 percent of the variants of Omicron B5 and B2 are infected in Delhi. However, no surge in hospitalisation or severity of the disease has been observed so far. However, Delhi is witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases, where the positivity rate is around 15.02 per cent.
