Toronto: Ontario’s population could rise incessantly over the next two decades, According to a new report released by Statistics Canada,

Based on the data of the 2021 census, the federal agency presented this claim. There are currently an estimated 14,826,000 people in Ontario. According to the report, this shows moderate growth. This means there will be 4·2 million new residents in Ontario.

“Ontario’s population growth is higher than in other provinces, although people have also migrated to Maritimes, Quebec and British Columbia during the pandemic,” said Patricks Canada demographer Patrice Dion.

Dion also found that the population here is ageing more than in other parts of the country.

The report said That Canada will have to rely heavily on immigration levels to make its population nourished. That too in a context when the fertility rate here is declining.
