Ontario: Two ontario school boards said today that they would close schools if education workers go on strike next month.

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic School Board said the decision was being taken keeping in mind a number of factors such as supervision of students, medical support, sanitation and overall security of the school.

An update posted on the website of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School said, “The decision to close our schools is very difficult and is not being done lightly.

But the reality is that we cannot guarantee safe conditions for all students in case the coupe education workers are not present in schools.
