Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other leaders of various states of the country have written a joint letter to PM Narendra Modi.

In this, all the leaders have accused the BJP central government of misusing the central agencies. The leaders have condemned the misuse of agencies like ED and CBI.

Hemant Vishwa Sharma was also targeted in this letter. Investigations against opposition leaders who join the BJP are slow. Apart from this, there is also a mention of the long-running tussle between CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann and Governor BL Purohit.

In the letter, the governor’s office has been accused of interfering in the work of the elected democratic government. At the same time, the Governor was also cited as the reason for the growing rift between the Center and the states.

The letter lambasts the centre on the arrest of Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia and raids against several opposition leaders. “His arrest will be cited worldwide as an example of a political witch-hunt and further confirm what the world was only suspecting – that India’s democratic values stand threatened under an authoritarian BJP regime,” the letter read.

The letter was signed by K.Chandrashekar Rao (BRS), Farooq Abdullah (JKNC), Mamata Banerjee(AITC), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), Uddhav Thackeray(Shiv Sena, UBT), Bhagwant Mann (AAP), Akhilesh Yadav (SP) and Tejashwi Yadav (RJD).
