Mumbai: The NCP on Friday demanded immediate revocation of Padma Shri conferred on actor Kangana Ranaut for her controversial remarks on Independence and sought her arrest for insulting freedom fighters.
Taking a dig, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said the actor is talking too much after an excess dose of “Malana cream”, a type of hashish that draws its name from Malana valley in Himachal Pradesh.
“We strongly condemn her statement and demand that her Padma Shri be revoked. She should be booked for insulting freedom fighters,” Malik said
Ranaut, recently said that the Independence India obtained in 1947 was “bheek” (alms) and that the country truly became free in 2014 as BJP formed government.
Great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Tushar A. Gandhi said that Kangana is “an agent of hate, intolerance and rabidity”.
Sena MP and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that Kangana must apologies as she has insulted the nation which is celebrating the 75th jubilee of Indian Independence this year.
NCP’s National Spokesperson and Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik said the actress may have been under the influence of narcotics when she made the comments.
