Chandigarh: Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann will sworn as chief minister at Khatkar Kalan, Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village.
This event has been attended by the party’s national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, along with all its Punjab MLAs.
However, outgoing Congress CM Charanjit Singh Channi was invited to the oath-taking ceremony.
AAP won 92 seats in the 117-member assembly, marking the biggest victory in the state to date.
The three different stages have been installed in the venue including one for oath taking ceremony as Punjab CM, the second one for the Delhi chief minister and his cabinet colleagues, and the third one for all AAP’s winning candidates in the recently-concluded Punjab elections.
Meanwhile, AAP invited Congress MP Manish Tiwari, who shared the invitation on Twitter and congratulated Mann. He said, “I congratulate @BhagwantMann on being sworn in as Chief Minister
I thank him for inviting me to his swearing in. Due to Parliament being in session I will not be able to make it .It is ironic I was not invited to @CHARANJITCHANNI ‘s swearing in though he was one of my MLA’s.”
