Pakistan political crisis: Imran Khan ousted as Pakistan PM in no-confidence motion

New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has become first premier in the country ‘s history to be removed as he lost crucial trust vote in the national assembly yesterday midnight.

Khan was not present in the house at time of no-confidence motion. His party lawmakers held protest and later walkout from the house.

Voting on the resolution began at 11.58 pm (local time).

According to the poll, 172 votes were required in the 342-member national assembly.

Meanwhile, candidates for Pakistan’s next prime minister are due to file nomination papers on Sunday and supporters of Khan is likely to hold nation wide protest in the country today.
