Afghanistan: Taliban has successfully conquered some territories of Panjshir Valley on Monday.

This is the last bastion of the war-torn nation untouched by the hardliners, which led to massive damage and casualties on the Resistance Force led by caretaker President Amrullah Saleh who is safe after bombardment at the house where he was staying but has been moved to an undisclosed location.

However, many top commanders of Force including spokesperson Fahim Dashti and Wadood, a nephew of Ahmad Shah, were killed in the combat. Dasti was also a senior member of the Jamiat-e-Islami party and a member of the Federation of Afghan Journalists.

Sources in the Islamist militia said that Taliban has seized the valley north of Kabul after a heavy combat and house where Saleh was staying was also bombarded by Taliban helicopters. He is, however, safe at an undisclosed location.

The Taliban seized Kabul on August 15 after rapid advances across Afghanistan.
