Chandigarh: Today’s meeting of PCS officers association with chief minister Bhagwant Mann has been inconclusive. However, a delegation of the Punjab Civil Services Officers’ Association thanked chief minister Bhagwant Mann and praised him for never before had any chief minister listened to them with such patience. “The chief minister of the state has never shown such sympathy towards their genuine demands towards the cadre members,” they said.
After the arrest of RTA Narinder Singh by the Vigilance Bureau, the Punjab PCAS Association has been protesting. As a result, PCS officers across the state have gone on mass leave for five days from today.
Officials said that the situation is such that the association is forced to request the chief minister to take action in the matter. Their first demand was to ensure that Narinder Singh Dhaliwal is released immediately.
Secondly, an FIR should be registered against the vigilance officials who framed Tarsem Chand PCS in the case and those officers should be immediately arrested and suspended.
They have further demanded that the SOPs in cases of questioning and registration of FIRs be prepared within a week of all the enquiries registered by the Vigilance Bureau against all government officials.
All enquiries registered against all government officials by the Vigilance Bureau will also be reviewed. No matter which department it belongs to.
Meanwhile, the Vigilance Bureau had arrested RTA Narinder Singh Dhaliwal in a bribery case. As a mark of protest, the Punjab Civil Services Officers’ Association has announced to go on mass leave.
