PM Modi to pay last respects to Parkash Singh Badal

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Chandigarh at 12 noon to pay his last respects to Shiromani Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Parkash Singh Badal. PM Modi said in his condolence message that he was deeply saddened by the shocking demise.

Parkash Singh Badal was a towering figure and notable leader of Indian politics. He worked tirelessly for the progress of Punjab and supported the state in difficult times.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday night. He breathed his last at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. There is a wave of mourning in the whole country after his death.

The central government has announced a two-day national mourning (April 26 and 27) on the death of Badal. During this time, the national flag will fly at half-mast and there will be no government entertainment programs.

Meanwhile, Punjab government announced a government holiday in the state on Thursday. Badal’s creation will be held in Badal village on Thursday.
