Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will visit Mexico City to participate in the North American leaders’ summit from January 10.
Trudeau will meet US President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at the annual Three Amigos meeting. Trudeau’s office said the meeting would focus on building economies of the three countries. Special attention will also be paid to the cooperation of the electric vehicle supply chain.
Earlier, the meeting was held in November 2021 in Washington, DC. Meanwhile, US Trade Representative Katherine Chi Tai said in a statement that Canada has implemented new dairy policies that are not appropriate in accordance with the Canada-US-Mexico Free Trade Agreement.
Canadian Trade Minister Mary Ng PC issued a statement saying that the dispute resolution panel had repeatedly confirmed that Canada’s supply management system was on track and that Canada was meeting all trade conditions. In addition, it was also said that the terms discussed in the deal also remain intact.
