Poll survey shows Murray leading the mayoral race in Winnipeg

Ottawa: Two times mayor, Glen Murray, is leading the mayoral race in Winnipeg, a survey by the Research poll released on Thursday revealed.

Murray had earlier served as mayor of Winnipeg from 1998-2004.

According to the survey, he is leading the 12 candidates with 44% of decided voters preferring him a suitable candidate.

Councillor Scott Gillingham gets second position in the survey with 16% of the support while former federal Liberal MP Robert-Falcon Oullette with 13 percent support on third with 13% and 2018 runner-up Jenny Motkaluk is polling at 8% followed by Shaun Loney with 6% support.

The survey states that Murray is being supported by one-quarter of provincial and highest support comes in the core area and the lowest in northeast Winnipeg, according to the survey report.
