New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) has asked all countries to recognize the importance of spending on primary health care infrastructure.
“There is no economic security without health security. Head of the WHO’s South-East Asian Region. Poonam Khetrapal Singh said that only a strong health infrastructure can give a befitting response to health emergencies, and health is essential for economic security.”
He said that during the Covid pandemic, everyone has come to know about this and it is important for everyone to be healthy and everyone has access to health facilities, preparedness to deal with epidemics. Speaking at the World Health Summit in Berlin, he said investment in basic health infrastructure is essential to achieve all these objectives.
Since 2014, health experts in Southeast Asia have been improved under a number of programmes.
The number of doctors, nurses and other health workers has increased here. This has also helped in dealing with Covid.
