Punjab Assembly session: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann moves confidence motion

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann moved the confidence motion in the afternoon in the Punjab Assembly session. He said the House has faith in the Council of Ministers. Finance Minister Harpal Cheema supported the proposal and recommended its passage. Earlier, the Speaker again adjourned the House for 15 minutes and asked the staff to comply with the orders to evict the Congress MLAs.

When the marshals tried to remove MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa and other Congress MLAs, they objected. All congress MLAs were eventually walked out from the House.

After the Speaker adjourned the session and the Congress MLAs walked out of the House at the behest of the Assembly staff.

The special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha began this morning with obituary references. The House paid tributes to former Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tried to bring a confidence motion but Congress MLAs created a ruckus in the House.
