Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s son Navjit Singh was solemnised in a low key ceremony at Gurdwara Sacha Dhan Sahib in Chandigarh on Sunday.
Navjit married Simrandheer Kaur, an engineering graduate, who is pursuing an MBA degree.
The chief minister himself drove the vehicle carrying his son to the venue. The ceremony was a simple affair with tight security arrangements.
Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh also attended the function and addressed the congregation.
While praising the CM’s initiative for a simple marriage, Jathedar performed Ardas (prayers) for the couple and had lunch with them.
Meanwhile, the reception will be held in a hotel near Kharar Monday.
